      This piece weighs 15.6 grams, is 2.3mm thick compared to the copper piece above at 8.9 grams and 1.5mm. An electrotype? The fields are somewhat rough compared to the copper example.

The Union League die is most likely the work of Robert Lovett Jr.

 

City Hall, Wall St. / Union League Mule struck on U.S. Centennial Medal
Gilt, plain edge, 31mm

It appears that George H. Lovett (or someone using his dies) cut

down an 1876 U.S. Centennial Medal H-K 22 and then overstruck

the above piece. Details of the original medal are still visible.

Below is the original medal for comparison.
